One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is working for animal welfare groups and helping out with their end-of-year fundraisers which inevitably involve some sort of awkward scenario featuring a volunteer Santa Claus, a make-shift set and lots of dogs, cats and other critters wearing hats and antlers – this year there was even a leopard gecko!
It’s the perfect recipe for spontaneous and often-hilarious images along with quite a few touching ones. I’m often surprised and pleased at what I end up with at the end of the day. I decided to challenge myself a bit this year and go with a slightly more complex set and lighting for one of the shoots that really worked out well. Check out some of my favorites from 2017 along with some other golden oldies from the past.
