Those of you who read this blog regularly probably don’t need much of a reason to be any more kind to animals than you already are today or any other day. However, this May 2-9, 2015, the venerable Be Kind to Animals Week turns 100 so there’s cause for celebration as well as renewed focus.
The American Humane Association which established the campaign back in World War I to help the millions of horses wounded or killed in battle has set up a challenge for 1 million people to take their Kindness 100 Pledge this year. This is not a pledge of money but of action so please consider it.
Here are four concrete ways you can support and celebrate Be Kind to Animals Week in 2015 and beyond.
- Report Animal Abuse
- Take Care of Your Own Pet
- Adopt a Pet from a Shelter or Rescue
- Appreciate + Respect Wildlife
While these may seem obvious to many of us, remember that consistently leading by example has impact on those around you and you can make a difference by passing these habits on to younger generations.
Please spread the word!
Happy Be Kind to Animals Week and now I leave you with some images that sum it all up.
