It’s been a while since I’ve posted bloopers and outtakes from a pet photography shoot and this one is worth the wait. Here’s the set up: three senior dogs, all terrier mixes, to be photographed on or near their folk’s boat in Sausalito. Their names: Ralph, Norton and Juice. Hysterical. Cute. Piece of cake.
On arrival we quickly realize it’s going to be impossible to get an unobscured shot on the boat itself so we settle for the top of a weatherproof storage locker with the boat behind it. Next we get all the dogs lined up on top. A few treats, a few “good boys”. done. This is going to be easier than I thought.
I get myself situated get the camera level and…Juice, the Jack Russell, starts barking and pretty much doesn’t stop for the next 30 minutes. Wait, let me clarify. He stops but only when Norton, the Cairn Terrier, decides to look away from the camera.
At the end I think I just out-stubborned them and grabbed a few frames with everyone looking right at me. The long, loud road to get there is below for your viewing pleasure.
