who knew? In my inbox this morning was an alert that it was indeed national veterinary technician week. The cynical part of me immediately went into high gear with all the typical thoughts you might expect: another marketing ploy, how many days until national dishwashing liquid week (I just remembered I still have to clean up after breakfast). Then I stopped and realized this is one that matters to me.
I work with veterinarians and vet techs a lot both professionally and as a pet parent and they really are important to my own pets and my clients. Vet techs are often the first line of care your animal receives and are also the ones who really help keep frightened animals immobile and calm. I see this a lot at the VETSOS clinics I photograph where dogs and cats are literally examined and treated on the street but also when I take my completely veterinary-visit-terrified dog for his annual exam. So, from me and my animals: thank you, vet techs!
