Prior visitors to this blog have seen images I’ve taken at mobile clinics run by VETSOS (Veterinary Street Outreach Services) in San Francisco over the years. It’s a group near and dear to my heart for the work they do but, more importantly, for the people I’ve met — both volunteers and clients.
There’s really no place else where I’ve seen more striking examples of the human-animal bond than than at these clinics and every time I think I’ve captured the most touching scene ever between a client and their animal it’s inevitably outdone at the next clinic. The images below are from a one held this summer in the Bayview neighborhood of San Francisco. The last shot is of long-time AmeriCorps volunteer, Bernadette (and a cute puppy client) who ran clinics flawlessly for the two years she worked for VETSOS. This was her last clinic.
